1. General Shipping Overview

This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how EcoTradition handles shipping, delivery, customs, and related matters for international business-to-business (B2B) orders. It applies to sourcing and export transactions for international buyers, including importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, buying houses, private-label brands, and corporate gifting companies, rather than ordinary domestic retail purchases.

EcoTradition is an international-facing brand and platform represented by Avijit Roy. EcoTradition is not, by itself, a separate incorporated legal entity. The identity of the seller, contracting party, exporter, or payment recipient for a particular shipment will be consistent with the applicable quotation, order confirmation, invoice, shipping documents, and the EcoTradition Terms & Conditions.

Shipping arrangements, timelines, and responsibilities described here are general and may be varied by the quotation, order confirmation, or other written agreement for a specific order. Where an order-specific arrangement differs from this general policy, the order-specific arrangement governs that transaction to the extent of the difference.

2. Order Processing and Production Timelines

Production and preparation timelines depend on product availability, order quantity, product category, customisation, material availability, artisan capacity, and other operational factors.

As general estimates:

These timelines are estimates and do not guarantee that an order will necessarily be dispatched or delivered within those periods in every circumstance.

Production and preparation time is separate from international transit, shipping, and customs-clearance time. International transit and customs clearance are additional to production time unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Orders are generally not processed on Sundays or Indian public holidays, subject to operational arrangements.

3. Shipping Arrangements and Incoterms

Shipping arrangements are agreed for each order. Depending on the product, shipment, destination, and the buyer’s requirements, available arrangements may include EXW, FOB, CIF, or other mutually agreed Incoterms.

FOB is the most commonly used arrangement for EcoTradition’s suitable sea-freight shipments. FOB and CIF are intended for sea and inland-waterway transport; where air freight, courier, or another transport mode is used, an appropriate alternative arrangement may be agreed.

The applicable Incoterm, the named port or place, and the applicable version must be confirmed in the quotation or order confirmation.

4. Shipping Charges and Transport Costs

Responsibility for freight, shipping, transport, insurance, and related costs is determined by the Incoterm and the agreed shipping terms for the order.

Shipping costs may depend on shipment weight, volume, product category, destination, packaging, transport mode, and carrier or freight-forwarder charges. The applicable charges will be communicated and agreed through the relevant quotation or order confirmation. Costs are allocated according to the selected Incoterm; this policy does not suggest that every cost is always payable by the buyer regardless of the chosen Incoterm.

5. Import Duties, Taxes, and Customs Clearance

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the buyer is responsible for destination-country import customs clearance, customs duties, import taxes, government levies, permits, and other applicable import charges allocated to the buyer under the agreed shipping terms.

The buyer is responsible for understanding the import requirements of their destination country and for providing any information or documentation reasonably required from them.

6. Shipments Delayed or Returned Due to Unpaid Import Charges

If a buyer does not pay required import duties, taxes, or other import charges, or fails to complete necessary import formalities, the shipment may be delayed, held, returned, abandoned, or otherwise handled by the carrier or customs authorities, depending on the circumstances.

To the extent provided by the applicable agreement and law, the buyer will be responsible for resulting return freight, storage, handling, re-delivery, customs, and other reasonable charges. EcoTradition cannot guarantee the recovery or re-delivery of a shipment in these circumstances.

7. Shipping Confirmation and Tracking

Where tracking information or shipping documents are available from the relevant carrier or freight forwarder, they may be shared with the buyer through the contact channel agreed for the transaction, such as email or WhatsApp.

Not every transport service provides tracking; tracking information is shared only where it is available for the selected service.

8. Delivery Address and Receipt of Goods

Buyers must provide complete and accurate delivery addresses, contact information, consignee details, and any required delivery instructions.

Buyers should ensure that an authorised recipient is available to receive the shipment when required. Incorrect or incomplete information, refusal to accept delivery, or recipient unavailability may cause delays, misrouting, return, storage, or re-delivery costs. To the extent provided by the applicable agreement and law, the buyer will be responsible for additional costs attributable to their failure to provide accurate details or to receive the shipment.

9. Delivery Inspection and Reporting Damage

Buyers should inspect the shipment promptly upon receipt.

If there is visible damage or tampering, buyers should notify the delivery agent or carrier immediately where possible, record the issue on the delivery receipt or proof of delivery where the carrier permits, and take clear photographs of the packaging and goods.

Buyers should notify the relevant contracting party promptly if goods arrive damaged, quantities are missing, or products materially differ from the agreed written specifications.

Buyers should retain packaging, labels, shipping documents, and supporting evidence, and comply with applicable carrier or insurer notification deadlines. Prompt reporting and evidence are important, while the applicable contract, carrier terms, insurance conditions, and law determine the outcome of any claim. A missing damage notation on a delivery receipt does not by itself automatically invalidate a claim.

10. Loss, Damage, or Delay in Transit

Where a shipment is lost, stolen, misrouted, or damaged in transit, EcoTradition may provide reasonable assistance with communication and documentation for a carrier or insurance claim, where appropriate.

Delivery and transit estimates may be affected by factors including:

This policy does not make a blanket exclusion of liability for all delays, and it does not promise an automatic replacement, refund, or compensation for every transit incident. Responsibility for risk of loss or damage, and the remedies available for delays, depend on the agreed Incoterm, the point of delivery and risk transfer, the applicable contract, insurance arrangements, and applicable law.

Buyers should report incidents promptly and comply with any deadlines imposed by the carrier, insurer, or applicable transaction documents.

11. Cargo Insurance

Where available and appropriate, cargo insurance may be discussed or arranged in accordance with the agreed shipping terms.

The availability, insured value, premium, scope, exclusions, and claims process depend on the specific insurance arrangement. Buyers should confirm whether insurance is included in their quotation or shipping arrangement. Any insurance cost allocation follows the applicable Incoterm and written agreement. Insurance is not automatically provided for every shipment unless expressly agreed.

12. Events Beyond Reasonable Control

Relevant parties are not treated as having breached an obligation to the extent that performance is prevented or materially delayed by circumstances beyond their reasonable control, subject to applicable law and the terms of the relevant agreement.

Such circumstances may include floods, earthquakes, storms, and other natural disasters; war, strikes, riots, or civil unrest; epidemics or pandemic-related restrictions; government restrictions, export/import regulatory changes, or border closures; and major port, transport, or logistics shutdowns.

The affected party should notify the other relevant party as soon as reasonably practicable and take reasonable steps to mitigate the effects. The consequences for the order will depend on the applicable agreement and law.

13. Governing Law and Related Terms

This Shipping & Delivery Policy is consistent with, and should be read together with, the EcoTradition Terms & Conditions. The Terms & Conditions state that Indian law governs website-use disputes, subject to applicable law and any contractual arrangements for individual orders.

For disputes arising from a particular order or shipment, the governing law, jurisdiction, and dispute-resolution arrangements may be specified in the relevant transaction documents. Nothing in this policy introduces a contradictory exclusive-jurisdiction clause or a new dispute-resolution procedure.
