A Simple Process for International Wholesale Buyers

EcoTradition connects international buyers with handcrafted products made by Indian artisans. We work with importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, buying houses and brands seeking distinctive handcrafted products for their markets.

Whether you are sourcing products from our existing collections or developing a customised range, our ordering process is designed to help you evaluate products, confirm specifications and plan your purchase with clarity.

Step 1: Explore Our Collections

Browse our product categories to identify products that suit your market and business requirements. Our collections include wooden handicrafts, wooden kitchenware, Jaipur Blue Pottery, cotton bags and textiles, embroidered bags, pouches and selected home décor products.

Product availability, specifications, pricing and production requirements may vary by design and artisan availability. Handcrafted products may also have minor variations in colour, texture, dimensions and finish.

Step 2: Request Samples (Optional)

We recommend evaluating samples before committing to a bulk order, particularly when introducing a new product range.

Samples help you assess the product’s workmanship, materials, finish and suitability for your market. Minor differences between samples and subsequent handcrafted production batches may occur.

Step 3: Request a Bulk Order Quotation

Once you have shortlisted your products, contact us with your sourcing requirements so we can prepare a quotation.

Please include as much of the following information as possible:

Our typical bulk minimum order quantity is 500 units per SKU, although the minimum may vary by product and production arrangement. Some products may have different minimums, which will be confirmed during quotation.

Your quotation will set out the applicable product pricing, minimum quantities, production estimates, shipping arrangements, payment terms and other relevant conditions. Prices and lead times are confirmed for the specific order rather than guaranteed by indicative website information.

Step 4: Confirm Product Specifications and Customisation

Depending on the product, customisation may be available for colours, dimensions, materials, printing, branding, private labels and packaging.

Before confirming your order:

Customisation options depend on the product, production capabilities, minimum quantities and artisan availability. Additional development time or charges may apply. Changes requested after approval may affect pricing and production timelines.

Step 5: Approve the Order and Complete Payment

Once the specifications and quotation are agreed, the order will be documented through the applicable quotation, pro forma invoice or order confirmation.

For most made-to-order bulk orders, an advance payment of approximately 70% of the order value is required before production begins. The remaining balance will be payable according to the payment schedule confirmed in your quotation or order documents.

Payment methods, milestones and any exceptions will be confirmed in writing for each order. Production will begin once the required advance payment and other applicable pre-production approvals have been received.

Please review the order confirmation carefully before making payment.

Step 6: Production and Quality Checks

After order confirmation and completion of the required pre-production steps, the products are prepared through the relevant artisan and production arrangements.

Typical preparation estimates are:

These are estimates, not guaranteed completion dates. Customised designs, order quantities, material availability, seasonal demand and other production factors may affect the timeline.

Production and preparation time is separate from international transit, customs clearance and final delivery. We will communicate the applicable arrangements and any material updates as appropriate.

Step 7: Shipping, Documentation and Delivery

Before dispatch, the applicable shipping method, responsibilities and delivery terms will be confirmed for your order.

FOB may be used for suitable sea shipments. EXW, CIF and other mutually agreed Incoterms may apply depending on the product, shipment method and commercial arrangement. Appropriate terms for air freight or courier shipments will be agreed separately.

Your order documents will clarify the agreed shipping arrangements and the allocation of transport costs and responsibilities. Unless otherwise agreed, the buyer is responsible for destination-country import duties, taxes and customs-clearance requirements.

Tracking or shipment updates will be shared when available. Delivery times may be affected by carrier schedules, customs procedures, regulatory requirements and other circumstances outside the production process.

Please ensure that your business and delivery details are accurate and review the Shipping & Delivery Policy for further information.
